We offer a number of Online safety training events for professionals. To keep things simple, we will come into you organisation to deliver the training or as part of staff meeting or training.

Primary

Online gaming and chatting

Cost: £55 for first hour, then £45 for every hour thereafter (£30 if only one 30′ presentation)

This session uses the CEOP video Lee and Kim to explore who are online friends, how we should behave online, not sharing our personal information and talking to our trusted adults.

Online safety and friends

This session uses a discussion format to explore issues surrounding online behaviour. It will include online profiles and friends, viewing and sharing appropriate content, gaming, friendship issues and online bullying and positive and negative effects of being online.

This session uses a discussion format to explore issues surrounding online behaviour. It will include password issues, GPS/location services, online gaming, youth produced sexual imagery, friendship issues and online bullying, exploration of online platforms’ use of personal data as part of their business model, and positive and negative effects of being online, including impacts on wellbeing and how to get further support with online issues.

This session looks at online bullying, youth produced sexual imagery and grooming/CSE with a specific emphasis on the law. It also looks at aspects of cybersecurity and the roles of people and organisations who can support young people.

This session looks at online bullying, youth produced sexual imagery and grooming/CSE. It also looks at aspects of cybersecurity and then focuses on the effects of online reputation in relation to gaining educational places or employment.

This presentation is aimed at providing parents and carers with the knowledge and resources to protect their children online and to understand the roles of others in this process.

  • Different strategies for preventing incidents and building resilience online
  • The role of the young person, parents/carers, schools, police and other professionals in preventing and dealing with online safety incidents

Protecting Young People Online

To make professionals working with children aware of the risks young people face online and how they can assist them to deal with issues

  • Recognise how other factors such as behaviours, individual vulnerabilities and family issues can impact online risks for young people
  • Explain the role of schools, police and other professionals in dealing with online safety incidents
  • Recognize how schools can help young people to build resilience to help them face online issues
  • State reliable sources of information online to support themselves, young people and parents in preventing and dealing with online safety incidents

Safer Digital Working Practices

Aim:
To enable professionals (particularly those in schools) working with children and young people to reduce risk and deal with digital incidents for both young people and professionals

Objectives:

  • Explain organisational policies and procedures in relation to online safety for young people and professionals working with them
  • Explain the role of schools in dealing with pupil and professionals digital incidents
  • State reliable sources of information online to support themselves and young people in preventing and dealing with online safety incidents
  • State when police, MASH or other agencies should be contacted in relation to digital incidents
  • Apply organisational policies and procedures to explore appropriate responses to digital safety scenarios
  • Identify any gaps in the organisational policies or procedures

Foster carers working with young people

To make foster carers working with children aware of the risks young people face online and how they can assist them to deal with issues

  • Describe additional online risks for young people in foster care
  • Describe strategies for protecting and educating the young people they foster in their own home

  • State reliable sources of information online to support themselves and young people in preventing and dealing with online safety incidents
