Mini Police

The Mini Police scheme is a National Police engagement programme aimed at Year 4/5 (8-10 years) school pupils. The programme sits within the Volunteer Police Cadet National framework which allows for progressive and sustained engagement across significant periods of a young persons life.

The National VPC Hub Team believe that giving more young people a chance to participate in local policing and community related volunteering offers significant benefits to those involved and to their local communities.  Opening up policing in this way help forces better understand the needs of their diverse young people, improve social integration and also encourage their involvement in supporting local policing and communities.

The main aim of the Mini Police programme is to increase trust and confidence within both the young people and their communities through early intervention, the delivery of safety messages, preventative education and long-term problem solving.
