Human Rights Day takes place on 10th December each year. This is the day the United Nations General Assembly adopted, in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The UDHR is a milestone document, which proclaims the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being – regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Available in more than 500 languages, it is the most translated document in the world.

The digital world continues to develop at an astonishing pace. It provides children and young people with ever-expanding opportunities for learning and discovery – as well as new and increasing risks to their safety and wellbeing. Safeguarding today requires all practitioners to be up to speed with emerging digital trends and threats. The 7th Safeguarding Children in the Digital Age conference, organised by Children & Young People Now, takes place online on the afternoons of Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th January 2024.
