There are 4 types of checks that can be done when someone does a DBS check on you.

Basic

Contains details of any unspent convictions or conditional cautions the applicant has.

Standard

Contains details of any spent or unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands or warnings the applicant has, as long as they’re not protected.

Enhanced

Contains the same information as a standard check, as well as any relevant information held by the applicant’s local police force.

Enhanced +

Contains the same information as an enhanced check, and shows whether the applicant has been barred from working with children and/or vulnerable adults.

Working with children or adults in certain circumstances such as those in receipt of healthcare or personal car. Also for taxi licence applications or people working in the Gambling Commission.

Shows whether the applicant has been barred from working with children and/or vulnerable adults.
